November 17, 2004 was a beautiful Fall day in Dyer County, Tennessee. Mostly sunny and 73 degrees are not conditions to waste behind a desk. It was the perfect time to visit JCIL clients.

Look at that, a golden tree at the top of the hill. Our Dyer County clients, a husband and wife, are both wheelchair users.

Some would ask why a couple with disabilities would want to live way out in the country away from all the “quote, unquote” convenient services? The answer is easy. Independent Living means having a choice of where you live.

The family at the end of this rainbow road are independent thanks to the JACKSON CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING and your United Way Contributions.
