Mission Statement: The Jackson Center for Independent Living is a community based, nonresidential, consumer controlled program of services designed to enable persons with disabilities to achieve maximum independence and fully participate in all aspects of community life.
FACTS: A person living in a nursing home against their will is imprisoned. A person living in an inaccessible home is under house arrest. Until the state diverts adequate funds from nursing homes into home and community based care, we will do what we can to free our people not only by advocacy but with home modifications. |
