Saturday, December 8, 2007 was a very special day at the Jackson Center for Independent Living. JCIL held its first Christmas Bazaar to give their consumers an opportunity to sell their arts and crafts and to raise a little spending money for Christmas. The event began at 8 am with Breakfast with Santa for area Deaf children and children with disabilities. A contribution from First State Bank of Madison County provided breakfast and toys for the children. VP Community Relations/Business Development Officer Barry Mathews even joined the JCIL staff in the kitchen preparing the food. "It was one of those good days that make everything we do worthwhile," said Glen Barr, JCIL Director. "We extend a very special thanks to FIRST STATE, BANK OF MADISON COUNTY for sponsoring our Christmas Bazaar and also we sincerely appreciate the contributions from All Saints Anglican Church, Ralph Leverett and Buffy Creekmoore."
